Bonjour Vacances

It's that time of year. Exams are finished, mid-year uni break has just begun and we are finally able to pay attention to the more trivial (yet pleasing) things in life such as blogging, shopping and partying!  Yesterday, on our first real day of freedom, we went to Surry Hills in hope to find a few new outfit options for the fore-coming night and of course, indulge in some yummy brunch in the process!  After being seduced by countless of cute cafes, we chose an old time favourite Four.ate.five due to its convenient location (central Crown Street) and gourmet sandwiches! After doing so, we found ourselves lost in a One Teaspoon sale for a good 45 minutes. Everything was from 30-70% off and we were overjoyed with our purchases- a floral jacket, a black coat, a basic black long sleeve and a vintage tee! Only critique of the day was that my chai latte was spicy; a characteristic definitely correlated to the downfall of all bad chais! Moral of the story: never trust a chai in a tea pot xo

MK&A.

Having grown up alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley, its hard to believe they are turning 26! Who could forget Full House, Two of a Kind, and my personal favourite; the Sweet Sixteen books, which followed the trials and tribulations of growing up as privileged teens in LA.
To celebrate their fashion and pop-cultural goodness, here is a look at their evolution over the years.

Fashion study

After spending a good portion of the long weekend essay writing, I realised that about 50% of my time was probably spent procrastinating. Facebook, tumblr, Pinterest, instagram....damn technology!

Despite all that procrastinating I did manage to finish my essays, one actually being on Fashion (or more specifically how Georg Simmel's account on fashion reflects the social-cultural realities of the metropole).
Choosing to write on fashion is actually no surprise- through the course of my uni career thus far I have managed to write essays on Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Glee and dancing...the joys of majoring in Sociology.

Here are a selection of pics that managed to distract me over the weekend....

knits

Okay so we are probably a LITTLE too obsessed with knits, but can you blame us?
Not only are they the most comfortable items of apparel a girl can own (unless you're unfortunate enough to pick up one of those super itchy ones) but they look good in a 'I'm totally not even trying' kind of way. Whilst some people perceive jumpers as a fashion cop out for this reason, we see such simplicity as just the icing on the cake! In fact, the only thing better than girl knits are boy knits
where the range is not only bigger, but the prices so much smaller (damn you boys). Only down side; knits are subject to pill, so its definitely worth opting out for more expensive brands when buying one you can see yourself wearing a lot!

Our collection is ever-growing and we are currently in love with wearing cute collared shirts underneath so they poke out the top! Dont forget that in this case, bigger is always better. xo
